My Trajectory

I followed an improbable trajectory from rural, bordertown New Mexico to a liberal arts school in San Antonio to pursue a BS in computer engineering. While interning at Southwest Research Institute, I discovered academia the summer before my senior year and decided to attend Pitt to get a PhD in Bioengineering, studying brain-computer interface. There, I fell in love with neuroscience, sensory feedback, and applying engineering principles to restore lost function and to better understand the brain. After graduating, I took these passions with me to continue this research as a postdoc across the country at Stanford. In addition to trying to solve part of the brain's mysteries, I also enjoy sharing my STEM journey and what I've learned with anyone who wants to know more.
